REVIEW: QUEENIE, by Jacqueline Wilson. Illustrated by Nick Sharratt.

This Book (QUEENIE) is my favourite book I’ve read in my hole entire LIFE!!!
Queenie, by Jacqueline Wilson
Adjectives for Queenie: dramatic, fabulous & mind-blowing!
This book is about a little girl named Elsie Kettle who loves her nan. But when Elsie finds out that her nan has got TB  she realises that her mum is going to have to look after her. Elsie is devastated! Soon after that Elsie and her mum find out that poor Elsie has got TB in the knee! So Elsie and her mum have to take the train all the way over to the hospital. And then she meets other annoying rude and kind kids on the ward.

I won’t tell you the rest because else I will spoil the story!

I think the illustrations are beautiful and they are done by Nick Sharratt, who also illustrated one of my favourite bedtime stories when I was little - YOU CHOOSE. You should check it out if you're under 6.

P.S. It has 410 pages!

REVIEW: FLORA THE FANCY DRESS FAIRY, by Daisy Meadows

So this is part of the Rainbow Magic stories. It's 3 stories in 1.
Flora the Fancy Dress Fairy
It's an excellent book. I bought it in Sevenoaks, in a charity shop. I've read only 3 books by Daisy Meadows and I think they're all great. I read this one all last night. I absolutely adore Daisy Meadows, I know I've said that a thousand times, but I just can't get over how good the books are. They're really magical.

Now, about the book. Kirsty's cousin is holding a magnificent fancy dress ball and Rachel and Kirsty can't wait. But everything's going wrong. Jack Frost's evil goblins are holding a fancy dress ball in the same place at Mckersey Castle. So they need help from Flora and the magical fairies. Oh no, the evil goblins are stealing Flora's 3 magical items - her red cape, her ball mask and her small figurine.

The small figurine makes the food perfect and the magical mask makes all of the costumes perfect. I can't remember what the red cloak does.

You should try reading it.

P.S. It's good to buy books in charity shops because they're very cheap and good value.

REVIEW: THE ENCHANTED WOOD, Enid Blyton

This enchanted book contains adventure and magical lands. To read this book, you have to have an imagination. It's a good job that every kid has one of those, because it definitely comes in handy with this book.
The Enchanted Wood
It's about a group of kids and their names are Jo, Beth and Franny. They are brothers and sisters who moved to the countryside and next door to their house is an enchanted wood, where they discover the Magic Faraway Tree. At the top of the tree, every day there is always a new land. They make new friends, slide down the slippery slip and meet characters like Moonface, Saucepan Man, Silky the Fairy and Dame Wash a Lot.

All the characters live in different little houses on the tree and there is always new flowers, berries, fruits and treats growing on the tree.

I read the book every night just before bed. My dad read it to me first and after that I read it to myself, just to make sure I understood it. I recommend you do that with someone too. If you don't have anybody to read it with, just read it yourself. Or with your pet. It's up to you!

You might not want to read this, you might find it a bit boring in the beginning, but by the second chapter you'll LOVE it. My mum recommended it to me but I had no interest but by the time I got to the second chapter I was hooked.

The best thing about it it, there's noe ending, because there's a whole series of books that you have to finish. Brilliexcellent (as my brother would say!)!

Hearts out of 5: ♥♥♥♥♥ (I would actually do ten if I could!)

If you want to buy the book, go to your local book store or get it here.

What I Did Today

Today I started my blog - Bibliochild ♥♥♥
I went to TK MAXX! It just opened round the corner in Hackney Central and I bought the most
AMAZING dress ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was £25 and I saved up £20 myself and got £5 from my mum.
Then I went to Rosie's party and came home and watched Happy Feet! Funny that my baby brother happened to be wearing a penguin outfit today. Soooo cute.

See you guys soon xxx

Welcome to my blog!

The reason I've made this blog is because I love reading and I want to keep a diary of all the great books I've read. I want to meet new kids and hear about what books they like to read and what they think about the world.

So mainly I'll be writing about books, but sometimes I'll be writing about my life. What I've done during the week, how I think the world should be, how people should get treated and all that kind of stuff.

I think everybody should be treated half n half, sharing, everyone getting on well and looking after each other because I find arguments don't work out very well. When I go to school, that happens sometimes, but we're all much happier when we're friends ;)

REVIEW: DORK DIARIES, POPSTAR, Tales from a not-so-fabulous life

So, here goes, my first book review:

DORK DIARIES, POPSTAR, Tales from a not-so-fabulous life
by Rachel Renee Russell (what a cool name!)

Dork Diaries, Popstar
Dork Diaries, Popstar

This is a really good book. It's about a girl called Nikki Maxwell and her two BFFs Chloe and Zoe. Her worst enemies are Mackenzie and Jessica. Nikki writes a diary about her life. There is really good illustration too.
It's mainly about a talent show. She was going to do the show only with her two BFFs but them McK (her worst enemy) persuaded them to come on "The Dark Side" (her team). So then, she makes a band with a girl called Violet, Theo and Brandon and her two BFFs start to get jealous and they get persuaded by Nikki to come back on her team "Dorkulous".

Then, they get disqualified because the form that Nikki filled in to be in the contest it says "I'm not really sure yet" in the team's title. Then her life basically starts falling apart.

I won't tell you what happens in the end but it looks like it's gonna go well.
